Mac `n Cheddarwurst® Pasta

Enjoy a fun new twist on macaroni and cheese with Hillshire Farm® Cheddarwurst® Smoked Sausage with some fresh vegetables and fun cellentani pasta noodles.

1/4 Cup

unsalted butter

3 Tbsps.

all-purpose flour

1 Cup


1 Cup

shredded white cheddar cheese

1 Cup

cellentani pasta

1 Oz.

broccoli florets

1/4 Cup

green peas

1 Cup

pasta water

1 Tbsp.

kosher salt



Cut sausage into ½-inch slices and place in a large skillet. Cook and stir over medium-high heat 4-5 minutes or until lightly browned. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour until combined. Whisk in milk until thick; remove skillet from heat and stir in cheese until melted. Cook pasta according to package instructions. Add the broccoli and peas after 2 minutes of cooking; reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain remaining. Stir the pasta water into the cheese sauce until smooth. Add the sausage, pasta and vegetables until coated; season with salt.
