Italian Smoked Sausage Sandwich

Spice up this classic Italian sandwich recipe with Hillshire Farm® Smoked Sausage, onions, tomato sauce and shredded mozzarella.

  • 1 package Smoked Sausage
  • 1/2 cup thin slices yellow onion
  • 1 cup thin sliced red bell pepper
  • 1 cup prepared tomato sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 Hoagie buns
  1. Preheat oven at 425F.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high. Cook the sausage, onions and peppers in the tomato sauce for 8-10 minutes, stirring often. Spoon the mixture into buns and place on a baking sheet, top with shredded cheese. Bake for 3-5 minutes, just until the cheese has melted.
