How to Cook/Handle/Prepare
Unprepared:
PREPARATION: Due to differences in cooking equipment, cooking times may vary. GRILL: (Preferred Method): Preheat grill to medium-low heat. Grill sausage covered for 15-20 minutes, turning frequently for even browning until sausage is thoroughly cooked. STOVE TOP: Bring 1 cup water to boil in a large skillet. Carefully add sausage; cover. Reduce heat; simmer for 15 minutes. Drain water and brown sausage for 3-5 minutes, turning until sausage is thoroughly cooked. COOK TO A MINIMUM OF 160 F INTERNAL TEMPERATURE. COLOR IS NOT AN ACCURATE INDICATOR OF FINAL COOKED TEMPERATURE.
